Our Story

We started Real Sydney Tours because we wanted to share our enthusiasm and love of Sydney in an exciting, informative but also personal way. Let’s face it…you don’t forget a good tour guide or the tour they have given you and our aim is for every one of our clients to leave us feeling they have had a truly special experience by being shown the Real Sydney.

About Us

We believe that coming to Sydney is all about “the experience” and not just the city’s iconic sites. That’s why we have developed small private and personal tours for as few as two people that can be adapted at any time to suit the needs of our clients. We are committed to giving you the best possible day out in Sydney or its surrounding areas and your driver/guide is with you the whole time as an escort, friend, and of course a wealth of information. We have also developed a number of signature tours as part of the Real Sydney package, so if you’re not sure what it is you want to see…don’t worry we have taken great lengths to develop interesting and personal itineraries for you.

As we grow, Real Sydney Tours has recruited only the very best tour guides in Sydney and each one is a Professional Member of the Institute of Australian Tour Guides.

Darryl Slosberg

Owner and Tour Guide
Darryl is usually your first point of contact with Real Sydney Tours. She is the owner and manager of Real Sydney Tours. She loves Sydney and wants to share all the best bits with you. In her own words: “We arrived here from South Africa over 25 years ago and I am proud and happy to call this beautiful harbourside city of Sydney home. This love of the city evolved into wanting to share it with our visitors. Australia is really the Land Down Under. We are more than a hop, skip and kangaroo jump from the rest of the world, but it’s worth the trip. We want to share our favourite things about Sydney with you. Sydney is a city of many villages, each with their own unique personality, character and architecture. After enjoying the icons we take you into the heart of local village life where the big buses are not able to venture. This is the REAL Sydney where you will get a REAL sense of how we live, work, play and eat. Did I mention our fabulous coffee culture here…?”

Hi there my name is Jeff and one of the tour guides at Real Sydney Tours and so passionate of what I do and the company I work for. I have lived in Sydney for 38 years and cannot get enough of this dynamic beautiful City. From The city to the majestic Blue mountains and the wineries of the hunter Valley. I have travelled most of Europe china to South America but Sydney has is all. If nature is your thing or views history water or walks we have you covered and my usual first few questions is finding about you or group and finding what you want to get out of Sydney and I will take it from here to make your experience a lasting memory. I look forward to meeting and greeting you all in the future.

Alexa

Tour Guide
Alexa is the youngest in our small select team but her youth belies her years of experience as a tour guide. She cut her teeth in Europe playing the role of driver and tour guide extraordinaire while of course being a mom to the many young people who were lucky enough to have her take them under her wing. Returning to her hometown of Sydney, she continues to share her love of art, food, culture and nature with our guests incorporating her nurturing style and making everyone feel welcome.

Eddy

Tour Guide
Vivacious Eddy is our cuddly big teddy bear with a flair for languages. After guiding Australia wide he brings his wealth of information and quirky stories to share with our guests which he can do in English, French or Italian! Fishing in his boat is his other passion and we are often lucky enough to enjoy the fruits of his days out. As the respected patriarch with a bubbly fun personality, Eddy will have you smiling in no time. His years of experience as a guide in Sydney and her surrounds will have him show you her secret spots which he happily shares.

Evan

Tour Guide
Evan grew up in Bondi Beach, spending most mornings and afternoons by the coast, in the ocean and surfing. His family owns working land in country New South Wales so when he’s not on the beach, he’s in the country living a completely different Australian lifestyle. During university breaks from Australia’s capital Canberra, Evan had the opportunity to travel the globe and visit over 60 countries. His passion though and the place he calls home is Sydney. Showing visitors all the best hidden locations and revealing what truly makes Sydney the best place on earth is what Evan does effortlessly on every tour.

Wolfi

Tour Guide
Wolfi has been guiding Australia wide for over 20 years. His passion for the landscape and love of our unique animals have made him an expert on Australian flora and fauna. He enjoys taking our guests to out of the way spots that he has managed to find in and around Sydney. He is your man for anyone wanting to book private extended touring Australia wide. Wolfi is our German speaking expert and has a big following from the many German speaking guests he has taken around - who are now his mates.
